One PhD position is available in the neuro-cognitive lab at Bielefeld University to work on a DFG (German Research Council) funded research project on transsaccadic prediction (PI Arvid Herwig). The successful candidate will work within the environment of the Cluster of Excellence Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) at Bielefeld University (https://www.cit-ec.de/en) which offers a stimulating, multi-national and multi-disciplinary research environment for young scientists. The neuro-cognitive lab has access to excellent technical facilities including 3 Eyelink setups, an EEG+Eyelink+PROPixx system and VR eye-tracking. The project aims to investigate how the visual system uses predictions to deal with the different visual inputs sampled at the periphery and fovea. Preference will be given to candidates with strong experimental and statistical skills and programming experience (Matlab, Python, R, Experiment Builder). A University degree in psychology or related discipline is a prerequisite. The position should start at the 1st April 2018 or soon thereafter over a period of 2 years.
