Rescue #101

Our Frontline Response team rescued a young man out of homelessness and addiction!  For the sake of our rescue story, we will refer to him as "Maurice" (name changed to protect the privacy of all involved).

One of our Frontline Response volunteers was leading a group discussion for an AA meeting when Maurice walked into the room and stated that he had just been released from jail a few hours earlier. His time being locked up had given him three days clean from substance use, but he said he didn't know how to maintain it and asked for help.

The Frontline Response volunteer called the case manager for our Homelessness Department, and together they began working on trying to find a program placement for Maurice. Unfortunately, it was Friday, and no beds were opening up until Monday.

Upon hearing this news, some of the other participants in the AA meeting started calling their connections, determined to help the young man. One of them was able to get Maurice accepted into a program due to the fact that he had a personal relationship with the director. He moved in over the weekend, and now everyone from the AA meeting is cheering him on!

It is simply amazing how many layers God is unveiling with this one rescue! Please make a donation today to help us reach our goal of rescuing 100 more individuals out of the darkness of sex trafficking and homelessness prior to the end of 2021.  Thank you for fighting with us on the frontlines!
