We invite you to pause for a moment from your preparations for tomorrow, our national day of giving thanks. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the support of our incredible partners, and we count you among our many blessings! A Letter of Thanks from our Safe Home I have the privilege and joy of working in our safe home overnight as a resident assistant, being one of the first faces to welcome women into the home as they come from the streets and into a space that offers safety and stability. Entering this home is the first big step in their journey toward long-term trauma and addiction recovery. Picture this: I write to you while sitting in the living room here at our safe home. I look around me at this beautiful home that the Lord has provided for Frontline Response. There is beautiful decor on the walls, framed words and phrases glorifying God and bearing witness to the Gospel. Many smiling faces surround me as we watch a movie together. This is a home that welcomes women out of the darkness and into a space of hope, encouragement, faith, and freedom from a previous life of sex trafficking and exploitation. After the sweetest spa night of eyebrow tweezing, face masks, and Spanish worship music (as that is one of our resident's first languages), I praise God and give thanks for those who pour into this ministry to make this home possible -- those like you. Due to the nature of our safe home privacy and anonymity, you are choosing to pour into a ministry that you may never have an opportunity to directly "see" the fruits of your labor. As someone who has been nestled inside the walls of this home for the last 15 months, I want to share with you firsthand that the harvest is ready and bursting forth with life. It is because of you that we are able to have a 24/7 trafficking hotline, where no call goes unanswered, and round-the-clock rescue teams are prepared to serve at a moment's notice. It is because of you that when the Lord moves a woman's heart so mightily, she is then baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. It is because of you that we are able to offer a warm and joy-filled "absolutely, you have a place here" when every other hospital or mental health facility has given a "no" due to lack of income or insurance. It is because of you that we are able to continue to provide roses and handmade cards to those who are sexually exploited on Princess Night outreaches. It is because of you that we welcome a woman back into the safe home with open arms when she stumbles during her long-term recovery and calls our hotline again. It is because of you that we see women go from death to life in the Lord, hopeless to hope-filled, lost to found, and beauty brought up from the ashes of stories that seem nearly unbelievable. You are a part of our hope. You are a part of these women being found. You are a part of their beautiful story yet to be told. Though you may never know their names or see their faces, because of you, they know that the Lord does. They know that He has always called them by name and that He will always fight for their freedom in Him. Because of your support, they can come to know the reality of just how loved they truly are by Spirit-filled strangers and a sweeter-than-anything Savior. Whether you've supported in the smallest of financial ways or the largest, whether you've served as an occasional volunteer or shown up for weekly outreaches, whether you've shared our mission with others or offered prayers from a distance, this ministry and this home would not be possible without you. Oh, how endlessly grateful we are. It is because of you that our Compassion Night outreach teams are able to provide food, toiletries, and blankets, and to pray with those experiencing homelessness. It is because of you that we have male and female homelessness hotlines, with case management staff waiting to assess and place individuals making that first step toward changing their lives. It is because of you that we can offer resources for parents and discipleship for little ones in tougher than tough neighborhoods in our city every week during Kids Club and Adopt-A-Block outreaches. It is because of you that we can share in the joy of gifting toys to little children and spread the Christmas message of our Savior's birth. From the bottom of our hearts at the safe home, from the residents to our staff of wildly anointed and called warrior women, we offer the most gracious "thank you." For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
