Use your voice for kindness,
your ears for compassion,
your hands for charity,
your mind for truth,
and your heart for love.

What is my purpose in life?" I asked the void.

"What if I told you that you fulfilled it when you took an extra hour to talk with that teenager about her life?" said the voice. "Or when you paid for that young couple in the restaurant? Or when you saved that dog in traffic? Or when you tied your father's shoes for him!"

"Your problem is that you equate your purpose with goal-based achievement. I'm not interested in your achievements…just your heart. When you choose to act out of kindness, compassion, and love, you are already aligned with your true purpose. No need to look any further!"

The week between Christmas and New Year's is a time to pause and reflect on our own lives, to ponder how we can strive to be the best version of ourselves God created us to be, contemplating our true purpose in life. It is common for folks to make a list of goals, better known as resolutions, many of which will be long forgotten prior to Valentine's Day, the day we set aside to celebrate love.

God is love. You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving. Love is giving without judgment or reservation. Love God, love people. Our greatest joys are found in serving others, without expecting anything in return.

Life is full of choices, many of which dramatically impact our future. When we choose to act out of kindness, compassion, and love for all of God's children, we are choosing to align with our true purpose as God created us. We are also choosing to provide an opportunity for another of God's children to walk out His purpose for their lives so they can become a beacon of light to others.

Check out this video with two of our incredible partners, Murang and Eyrika Pak, to learn how they are giving back to their community. Whether "boots on the ground" service to our outreaches is your mission field or praying for rescue teams is your spiritual purpose, there are so many creative ways for you to engage. As Eyrika says in the video, do what works for you!
As the 2021 giving season winds down, if you haven't had a chance to give back in support of those in our community, please give as generously as you can before midnight on Friday, December 31, to make a lasting impact in the life of someone who needs YOU to choose kindness, compassion, and love!

Thank you!
