Happy Mother's Day from Frontline Response "I'm reminded of your authentic faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice. I'm sure that this faith is also inside you." II Timothy 1:5 reminds us of the generational impact that mothers can have. Throughout our two decades of work, we've always been amazed at the strength and resilience of moms. We've encountered moms who are working full time and raising children on their own, doing everything they can to provide opportunities for their kids that they never had themselves. We've encountered moms who've made the courageous choice to flee an abusive man or a trafficker so their daughters don't fall victim to the same cycles of pain and exploitation. We've encountered moms who've raised children to be heroes and world changers, and those children are now members of our staff and volunteer teams. The path of motherhood for many we serve is filled with uncertainty and challenges, but we stand ready to walk with them throughout their journey and with faith, we are prepared to tackle any challenge presented. If we can get personal for a moment, we know that Mother's Day brings up complicated emotions. It may carry painful memories from losing a mom or a child, abuse, neglect, not being the mother you want to be, or not having realized the dream of becoming a mother…Or it may be a celebration of a wonderful mother, the joy of children, or a reconciled relationship. Whatever Mother's Day means for you, we want you to know that we love you and we pray that you experience the nearness of God whether in your pain or in your joy. |
