September Newsletter 2021 Now that the kids are back in school, this is the perfect time for you to consider how you can get involved in your community, giving back as a volunteer! In this September issue, check out all the opportunities for you to get involved with Frontline Response, meet our newest staff member, and learn how you can help us spread Christmas cheer this holiday season. | | Frontline Response co-hosted a Back-to-School Movie Night for our community's youth and families. Parents and children alike had a great time with plenty of games, food, prizes, and movie magic! Many thanks to our partners who helped deliver one last evening of summer fun prior to heading back into the school year. Atlanta City Councilman Michael Julian Bond provided the outdoor theater, food truck, and popcorn for all; Faith Deliverance Temple hosted the event at their perfect location; and Passion City Church donated 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to send children back to school prepared to learn. Thank you so much! | | Save the date - Saturday, December 18, is the day! Plans are underway for this year's Christmas Toy Giveaway. We hope you will partner with us for this annual event to help provide an unforgettable Christmas for boys and girls. Experience the joy of giving this holiday season! In 2020, with the help of over 200 volunteers, we were able to share toys and the love of Jesus with over 2,000 children in four different neighborhoods. We hope to share that love with even more children this Christmas, and we need your help! There are several opportunities for you to volunteer your time and celebrate the Reason for the Season. If you are interested in partnering with us this year in any capacity, please email christmas@frontlineresponse.org, let us know how you would like to help, and a member of our team will be in touch with you. On December 18th, we hope you will join us in delivering holiday cheer, glad tidings, and Christmas joy to children and their families. We may even sing a rousing carol or two! | | Have you ever considered volunteering for one of our weekly outreaches? We invite you to be part of a truly life-altering experience. There are plenty of opportunities for you to engage and serve alongside us on Atlanta's city streets. Thursday nights are Compassion Nights. Frontline Response staff and volunteers reach out to homeless men, women, families, and addicted individuals, deliver a meal and a compassion bag (toiletries), and have conversations with those whom we encounter. Saturday morning Adopt-a-Block is a family friendly opportunity. After a time spent in unified worship and prayer, our staff and volunteers go door to door, connecting with children and their families through relationship, prayer, and family fun, inviting them to join us for a block party! Saturday nights are Princess Nights. Frontline Response staff and volunteers deliver roses, handmade cards containing scripture verses, and Hope cards with our 24/7 hotline number to women affected by commercial sexual exploitation, offering prayer and encouragement to the individuals we meet. Interested? Learn more and register to join an outreach this month! | | We're getting closer to moving into our newly renovated Global Response Center. Located at 2585 Gresham Road, our new headquarters is an 18,000 square foot facility that will serve as our administrative offices, multiple meeting spaces, teaching classrooms, a rescue training center, and much more. We recently received the necessary permits to further the renovation efforts, the excitement is growing, and we are eager to move in soon. Stay tuned! | | We were recently invited to hear an interesting and inspiring presentation by DeKalb County Continuum of Care. The program was designed to eliminate homelessness in the county by providing funding for nonprofit providers and state and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to those affected; promote access to effective programs; and optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness. We are on the frontlines rescuing individuals out of homelessness every day. We look forward to collaborating with DeKalb County (home to our new headquarters) in our combined efforts to eradicate homelessness in the County of DeKalb, City of Atlanta, the surrounding metropolitan area, and beyond. | | We are excited to introduce our new Director of Homelessness Tyana Mizell | | Tyana, a Georgia native, comes to us with over 13 years of Social Services experience in Atlanta. She enjoys networking and being part of change, with a passion for serving individuals in need. We are already seeing her work in action, collaborating with community partners to serve individuals impacted by the trauma of homelessness.Welcome to the team, Tyana! | | Text ATL IMPACT to 33777 to receive a text when each rescue is complete. Pray with us for each individual who is no longer living in crisis! With the incredible support of our partners just like you, we are well on our way to rescuing many more lives out of the darkness of sex trafficking and homelessness before the end of 2021. But there is more work yet to be done. Volunteer for an outreach, pray for those whom we serve, donate today! What would you offer to rescue one of your closest friends or family members out of the chains of sex trafficking or the tragedy of homelessness, living under a bridge or in an abandoned building? These are our brothers and sisters in Christ, and we need for you to continue this journey with us to love them well. Commit to a monthly gift of $25 to change the life of one of God's children who needs your help! The average cost of one of our rescues is $3,875, including the long-term care needed to achieve total restoration. Our goal is to raise $250,000 before the end of the year. Please know that your gifts are making a meaningful difference, and that we are so grateful! Donate now and transform the life of an individual living in crisis. | | Thank You For Your Partnership | | | | | |
