Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 19:16). In Jesus, we have a glorious hope and an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for us (1 Peter 1:3-4). This is a promise on which we can rely. We have no reason to fear.

Let’s not be afraid of the Second Coming. Perhaps the best way for us to grow in our confidence in Jesus and in the Second Coming is to ask Jesus to “come in.” The more we are familiar with Jesus, the more we will experience his love and the more we will want him to come again. In the Lord’s Prayer, we say, “Thy kingdom come.” As we say these words, let us also pray, “Jesus, come in. Make your home within me now! Let me be your dwelling place now!”
